I am lacking

In your eyes

I am slacking

 

No matter how hard I try

I fail to do better

I wanna be more

Gotta be more

 

In your eyes

I can't become anything

In your eyes

I fail at everything

 

The pressure to become the best

The pressure to beat all the rest

It's an all consuming darkness

It's eating me alive

 

In your eyes

I'm nothing

In your eyes

I won't amount to much

 

I've realized your eyes

they don't matter

What matters is how I perceive myself

What matter is who I want to be

 

In MY eyes

I am me

In MY eyes

I will succeed

In MY eyes

I am me and that's all I can be.
