Sword and Shield
I am a sword and shield for those in need.
I inflict and take blows
If you need, cry out and receive.
Get harassed in front of me, Slam, Swing, Sting,
was the pain worth it?
Let him be him, let her be her, let them all be. The hard resolve that is within will not give in
and the point of the sword is no duller than before.
Mess with others, answer to me,
Each time you just sharpen the point.
Maybe the point of a sword is just what you need
Before you let them be

Writing poetry was not what I ever thought I would be doing--until this school year, when with urging from my advisor and teacher I decided to try out a Creative Writing course at my school, Seattle Academy. I was hesitant at first because I had never written poetry before, but my curiosity got the best of me and I enrolled. Doing so was definitely the right choice. For me writing poetry really makes my mind work on a different level than any other course I take. I enjoyed this change of pace and I hope to continue writing poetry in the future.
