Jealousy

She slithers around,
fangs sharp with her poison,
lusting after her victim.
And once she sniffs out delectable vulnerability,
she drives her dagger through,
like scissors to tissue paper,
infecting her prey with her green toxin.
The rose-red blood is overrun,
and the liquid of life is contaminated.
She laughs as she watches
her hard work pay off,
as covetous thoughts
pulse through her victim's mind.

Personifying the idea of jealousy, to me, makes it much easier to grasp. Picturing this mood as a snake allowed me to really see how jealousy works.
