Favorite Quote:
"Our scars have the power to remind us that the past is real."

A smile tugs at your lips
As you glance over at me
Your eyes say it all;
I am all you can see.

Although you’ve never confirmed this,
I know it is true
From the way you smile
To the way you knew.

You know what I’m going to say
Before I even think it
You know what’s racing through my mind
Why I’m too excited to sit.

Your eyes reflect your smile
I lose myself in them all the time
They twinkle like the brightest stars
Glowing with the brightest shine.

You make me forget
My troubled past
You help me keep it there
I never thought it would happen so fast.

Before you, I was broken
Surrounded by tear-carved walls
I was on the edge of despair
Wanting to answer the dreaded calls.

Brick by brick you tore them down
As I stood by in shock
I thought they would always stand tall
That there was no key to the lock.

Not only have you unlocked my heart
You have stolen it as well
I can’t believe you did it
I can’t believe I fell.

I told myself I’d never fall again
For I was done with the hurt and tears
But here I write a love poem
Exposing my deepest fears.

I feared of being taken advantage of
I feared of being dropped out of the blue
But now the only fear I have
Is losing you. <3

Yeah, yeah, so cliche, writing a love poem about your high school boyfriend. I know. The point of this poem is not the love poem itself, but the fact that I am so happy right now that I wrote one.
