Chrysanthemum Summer MAG
In my prison of darkness
I stumble into my room
And am blinded
By the sight
The way the light dances off the crystalclear waters
The bubbles on the stalks
“1000 footsteps underwater”
Says the fly
The chrysanthemum summer is here
The warmth of the sun mends broken bones
As well as hearts
A pure vase is what I see
At the bottom
The glass begins to curve upwards
Then the bottoms of the stems come into view
Then out of the water
They grow
Reaching for the sky
And at the top
A flurry of yellow
The chrysanthemums
The light from the usually cloudy sky comes in my chamber window
Then
A miracle happens
Out of the darkness
The walls of my chamber begin to break
Freedom
I can almost smell it
Then here I am
At my home
In my garden
In the bed of chrysanthemums
