Favorite Quote:
life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, its about learning to dance in the rain.

No longer will I be overcome by an all-consuming insufficiency;

No longer will I be downtrodden,

No longer will I rely upon your superiority,

No longer will I beat down the writhing beast within me, desperate to be set free,

No longer will I be the naïve victim of your omission,

My soul is relentless, it thrives in the shelter of my potential,

what I can be, and what I am will not scorn me,

No longer will ‘what if’ be necessary,

I will brush aside the perpetual discrimination of generations,

I will be what I like,

and the oppression of our opposition will end,

No longer will I be silenced,

In the still of night, when my thoughts are not clouded by rage, I sit in my cell and I think.

Why?

Why would you refuse us time and time again?

why would I be lesser than yourself?

why do I have to fight for my rights?

Why am I here, shackled like a barbarian when I just want to be free?

The transgression of my gender was not one that is modern,

Medieval, animal, brutal, a ceaseless battle of wills,

For I am not as fragile as you comprehend,

I can start a war,

I can misuse authority,

I can make a decision for my own selfish gains,

Just.

Like.

You.

But this is too much,

The cacophony of thoughts all push me to one thing,

“Do it,” they say, “do it,”

Make.Them.Pay.

I will.

Believe me, I am happy now, I am free,

But you will never know that,

My corpse is all you see.

This peice is inspired by Emily Davidson.  I find her struggle truly inspitarional and believ that she should be thanked for what she has done to our way of life.  Her legacy lives on through our freedom.
