Sharp, piercing winds impale us with their claws
The sky a threatening black
Slivers of moonlight break through the trees
Snatching the ground
The echo of a crow's menacing caw
One after another
Leaves crunching under the feet of strangers
Break the silence
Streets full of demons
No one questions them
They hide their faces from the world
Maybe this is not Halloween
Maybe this is reality
