I don't know where I'm going, but I hope I go far.

So my teacher asked me to write a poem
that had similes in it. I don't know why,
me writing a poem is like me singing,
terrible and all off key.

She told me it could be anything I wanted
So should I write about love? I could say something like
My heart is like an ocean,
wide and always crashing from disappointment.

Or maybe I could say
that people are like dogs.
Cuddly and cute,
others are smelly and look like a snoot.

Hey, I just made a rhyme!
I think I did, any ways.
Usually my head is like a balloon,
always up in the air.

I'm sorry if this poem is really bad
I didn't mean it, honestly!
Maybe I should just stay home today
I feel like a sloth who never wants to get out of bed.

My teacher keeps making me write poems and I hate poems so here's a poem at how bad my poems can get.
