"Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way, you'll be a mile away from them, and you'll have their shoes." - Jack Handy

There is nothing worse than losing a friend,

Then standing there and watching his life end.

Unable to stop and properly grieve,

Lest you wish to earn an eternal reproeve.

They told you, you were being brave,

But they sent you to an unholy grave.

It is cruel to think that the prettiest girl in all the land,

Will never know the touch of her father's hand.

I wonder if you thought about me as much as I think about you,

Because when you died a part of me died too.

I was looking through reading units I had done in my last years English class.  And, I stumbled upon a few poems written during several wars.  As I read them, I was hit with inspiration.
