I am from the Sears tower, John Hancock Building, and Amoco Oil Building.

From Soldier Field, Wrigley Field, and the United Center.
I am from the Silver Bean and Navy Pier, and Uno pizza company.
From the Lakefront, Michigan Avenue, and the Magnificent Mile.
I am from the El tracks and the cars honking until sunrise.
From the museum, the aquarium, and the planetarium.
From chilling winters, humid summers, and wet springs.
I am from the North side.
From refusing to call the Sears tower the Willis tower.
I am from Chicago.

I am from a change of scenery.
From moving from Illinois to Wisconsin.
I am from enjoying a fresh cut lawn on a crisp autumn’s day.
From taking an annual vacation Up North.
I am from attending one of the best high schools in Wisconsin.
From looking forward to summer in the middle of winter.
I am from Hartland, Wisconsin.

I am from docking at a mossy pier after fishing in the dark.
From working days and nights to produce a single Walleye.
I am from teaching the next generation to fish to keep the tradition strong.
From casting, reeling, and setting the hook.
I am from sunny days on the water.
From family dinners, while eagles fly overhead.
I am from catching a 28” and 29” Walleye in the same year.
From dark  nights, and piney forests.
I am from loving a bad day fishing more than a excellent day at work.
I am from Lake Tomahawk, Wisconsin.

I am from Chicago, Hartland, and Lake Tomahawk.
