Moving In With the Father

I took the first step today
The first step towards my new life.
I left you.
I left my mother, the woman who birthed me
I thought that I could handle it
I've been planning to leave for months.
I thought I hated you,
You hurt me. So much.
I had to leave.
I have to heal.
But I miss you. My new life is hectic.
I don't know how much I can handle.
I just miss you, and I regret it.
I can't stand the thought
of what you're going through,
Of how much I've hurt you.
But I can't go back now.
So I'll wait and I'll heal, and maybe
One day, we can be whole again for each other again.
