Love as I once knew it

was gliitering ball

gowns in a room

full of beautiful faces

that was empty when we

Danced

Love as I once knew it

was flashing smiles

and soulful tunes over

a lonely, glowing

fire and a peaceful

Guitar

Love as I once knew it

was turning around

to find you there when I

was desperate in this

world, needing your solid

Embrace

Love as I now know it

is looking across

an ocean waiting for

you and searching the

dark but finding nothing

Familiar

The author's comments:
I simply write in an attempt to communicate with others and to relieve the burdens life throws at us all. Most of my work is a healing process that I hope others can connect with. I have a strong dislike for titling my work, because the title belongs to the person reading the poem. It's not something I, as the author, feel I have a right to invent. Therefore, I number my poems.
