I'm stranded
There's water to my left;
There's water to my right.
No escape.
I'm here alone in the cold, dark ocean
To drown in a life raft;
And it seems as though
The captain has forgotten to stock
The little boat with life vests
Or anything to keep me afloat.
Sometimes I think I see a ship,
A boat sailing the horizon
Or a face of a friend at the bottom
But it's just an anchor
Just a product of thirst
A mirage
In midst of all this
I make my final decision
There are a few splashes
But once I start sinking
The silence takes over
And it's just as though I'm alive.

To love is to be vulnerable; Triumph is born out of struggle; We notice shadows most when they stand alone in the midst of overwhelming light.
