A Mother's Wisdom
I’ve traveled all over the world,
seen wonders and learned many things.
I have studied with the greatest minds,
conversed and debated with philosophers,
read volumes from thinkers, and poets, and theologians.
How strange then that the wisest words I’ve ever heard,
should come from a woman who grew up in poverty,
never traveled, or read thick books,
never even heard of the poets, the thinkers, the theologians.
My mother’s wisdom will always be my guide.
