Denim jeans,
striped blue shirt,
lonely body
on crowded train.

Rabid chatter,
energized hum
transparently fade
in life-deadened ears.

Troubled eyes
silently watching
fields flowing
from rain-stained window.

The author's comments:
This poem is a fictional description of a sad boy riding a crowded train. It is loosely based on my own lonely train rides to and from college.
