a headache like an earthquake
disrupt my mind's terrain
a seismograph cannot read it's strength
no machine can measure
the pain radiating throughout my skull

voices speaking in whispered tones
are amplified to screams
no one seems to notice
when i clutch my ears
they continue, whisper screaming

soft light becomes brighter than any sun
piercing through closed eye lids
blinding me in what i imagined was the darkest cavern,
leaving me no source of comfort
aching everywhere, eyes, ears, and mind

My headache multiplies,
sounds amplify,
light intensifies,
instincts simplify.
