Live laugh love

It was like fireworks
After he kissed me
The kiss left my lips tingling
For quite awhile after the kiss
It is what I referenced to
As the lingering kiss
I though that his lingering kisses
Would never go away
But they stopped one day
When he left me
The lingering kiss
Was just a game
That he played
With me
And he left me for Texas
I didn’t expect the lingering kisses
That he left on my lips
To suddenly stop
When he left me
On Christmas Eve
I vowed to never let
Myself to fall for a guy
Who just toyed with my heart
Every time
I just wanted
To cry
I fought back those
Tears so I wouldn’t feel so fragile
In front of everyone
In all it ended up
As a lingering kiss
That I will
Never forget
Because it hurt me deeply
Like a wounded baby bird
It is the lingering kiss
That I wish I could just forget
And never think about
The lingering kisses again
I look back
And want to cry out
In shame
And hurt
That I was used
When it came to those
Lingering kisses through
The night and mornings
I hate the lingering kisses
I glad that I am not
With that guy anymore
Because he moved things to fast
And he hurt me deeply
Every time I think
About the lingering kisses
I get a sick feeling in my stomach
And just want to scream
And not let anybody
Get close to me
Enough for me to trust
