Welcoming Hand
Her expression, it wavers
She is a pile of leaves
One more soft wind
She is lost, tossed into Breeze
Later, all weary, she lands
Recollecting all her pieces
Hoping beyond hope
No leaves were lost in breezes
And as she slowly
Piles herself back up
The potent Breeze comes
To send her somewhere else
And when the windy day dies
Her pile of leaves, little to none
She mourns and she cries
What is left of her comes undone
Out comes the Owner
Brandishing his rake
He scoops up what's left of her
Pulling her out of Breeze's way
Breeze has lost again to the Owner
The Owner's leaves have been recollected
Even when they wandered off
His leaves He protected
"Oh, what awful things those Breezes say!
What terrible things they do!"
She tells the Owner
Who came to her rescue
In this land she is safe
A realm abundant in love
Here she'll be prepared
For when the next Breeze comes
"The Breezes cannot hurt you,
As long as you stay within my lands."
She reaches up, looking into the eyes of the Owner
And grasps His welcoming hand.

To love is to be vulnerable; Triumph is born out of struggle; We notice shadows most when they stand alone in the midst of overwhelming light.
