when life gives you lemons... eat them and make really weird faces at people.

We walk past pain
people are in.
We see Misery in someone's eyes.
But we do not dare
hold the stare
ever so long...
Because,
We may feel guilt upon our soulless hearts.
We fear feeling what they feel,
We fear to hold a look with one who has a broken future.
Then you throw this man a penny
avoiding his burning gaze.
Worst part is... you feel as if you may earn the right to feel better about yourself.
Thinking that you did a good deed.
But
As I walk up to this man...
I look him straight in the eyes,
I memorize what color they are,
I see his appearance,
his hidden personality.

And then...
I smile
Ever so slightly
My hand hand waves a greeting out to him.
It is not hard at all to actually lock eyes with the stranger.
Because you know what happens?
His expression of gloom vanishes
And a grin takes it's place.
He waves back.
-with a spark of hope running through his
Blissful hazel eyes.
Colored indeed.

Sometimes just a nice greeting can be better then a cold glare and a couple of quarters.

I like how at the begining you worded it to where they wern't being as giddy or up beat as they could but at the last part you change it and they are as happy as they can be when they see that man.
