Go ahead, judge me. Just remember to be perfect the rest of your life.

I lay in wake upon the floor, the air a summer haze
I stare in earnest at the door, longing in my gaze
The air is hot and humid,I wait for my Prince to arrive
The room darkens, my fear grows, I wait for my demise
The flowers in the room, once so pure and bright, darken, fade, dying
Weeping for their fragile lives, all are lost and crying
I want to scream through my tightened throat, but Death does have a grip
I grab the dagger, drink the poison, just one tantalizing sip
My eyes glaze over, my heart pounds, I have no control
I pierce my heart, down the toxins, condemn my damned soul
I tear off the crown, rip the dress, lay sobbing on the ground
The room bursts into life but I see no sights, I hear not a sound
I don't know where I am right now, confusion clouds my mind
Puzzlement does proceed to kill me, most unkind
Steadily, I climb to my feet, I see the vast world around
But all there is, is this dark room, and a crimson stained crown

This is supposed to be interpreted by the reader, but it is inspired by the fact that some dreams can start out wonderfully magical, turn nightmarish in a moment, and then return back again.
