They looked at the water
Not moving
Just quiet breaths
Each minute goes by
Every word unsaid
They're on the edge
So close to jumping
Never sinking all the way in

Instead they look at the water
Forward towards what could be
Across the river
A life they could lead
A future
A dream
Or reality
They don't know
Because they are so close to jumping
But haven't quite sunk in
So close to living but not yet quite in

The picture I found inspired this piece and just the thought of looking towards your future with someone you want to have a future with. Also it's about being scared about not knowing what's ahead but you're not fully living until you just jump in and deal with whatever happens.

This is really cool. I love picture inspired poetry, because you can draaw so many things from just one photograph. :) I like this because it gives you a lesson while using great diction. Loved it!   Could you check out my story? I need some feedback. :)  TeenInk.com/fiction/thriller_mystery/article/686391/The-Dreams-that-Keep-Gettign-Darker/
