The Rainy Season

The dark ominous clouds roll in.
Lightning and thunder crack across the sky.
The wind blows from the south rustling the scarce grasses and leaves.
A heavy teardrop of water plummets towards the Earth's surface.
The dry parched land sucks it up.
More follow as the clouds weep for the sorrows below.
Watering holes overflow from the constant downpour.
It stops just as suddenly as it starts.
A beam of sunlight splits the foreboding darkness.
Africa awakens.
