"Show me a hero and I'll write you a tragedy."- F. Scott Fitzgerald

Is the home team still on fire
Or have they burned out their flame
Are the Texans still a ridin'
If so what a shame

Is my brother still an embarrassment
Still screaming the name
Of a past girl and a lover
Who thought he was lame

Is the old man still immortal
Is the neighbor still a quack
Does Sally still skip in the meadow
Stretching from the city to the shacks

Are people still in shackles
From a law they can't obtain
Screaming and a shoutin'
Screeching the government's name

Are the guns still blazing
Over things that cannot change
How many boys have been killed
With grown men all to blame

Is the marching band still playing
The same sound a thousand times
Is the boy down the block
Still looking mighty fine

Is the mayor still apologizing
About all these wars
And promising the same thing
That there won't be no more

How many boys have been drafted
Every single one in town
Not even knowing
They'll all be six feet underground

What happened to the giggling
Of the girls who could not see
That the boys didn't love them
They only love she

Why is there fighting
Have all the deaths been in vain
Sally doesn't frolic no more
She only cries in pain

There is no more home team
To play any games
The Texans are long gone
And it really is a shame

My brother found another girl
Her name is Irma Lee
She says she can't love anyone
Under twenty three

The old man kicked the bucket
The neighbor is still a quack
The people are still in shackles
Blaming everyone else for their lacks

The guns are still blazing
Nothing has changed
Most of the boys are departed
With the men still to blame

The marching band only plays death marches
Four times a day
Every song for a boy
Six feet under is where he will soon lay

The boy came back
Just not as fine
But with a year
He'll be ready to shine

The mayor is still apologizing
About the same things
Not even acknowledging
The major dings

Irma Lee is pregnant
From another Man
My brother is back to chasing
Hoping I will understand

Every bullet kills a person
Over a billion were fired
Is anyone else with these wars
Getting Tired

What happened to the wedding shoppe
Has it closed its doors
Well there isn't anyone to buy their things
At least not anymore

"In the game of throne, you win, or you die. There is no middle ground." -Petyr Baelish

This poem is an absolute marvel. I just love it. It is really different than other poems, but that makes it an exception. Really good one. You are very talented.
