To Die Would Be An Adventure

To die would be an adventure
To live would be a dream
To hope would be disaster
And to wish would be extreme.

While the years keep turning
My skin is wearing down
While the sun keeps shining
Flowers fade to brown.

I watch the leather wrinkle
I see the leaves fall
Snow melt and water sprinkle
I hardly change at all.

Soon my memory’s fading
I can’t think much more
The ones I love are crying
Falling to the floor.

My life has been a dream now
My hopes turned to disaster
My wishes too extreme
To ever chase after.

And as my bones wither
My hair as white as dust
I know my adventure of death
Will soon be upon us.

I do not fear the journey
For the destination is true
My passion for it is burning
My death at last is through.

I gleam from above
Graced with a warm embrace
Sending thoughts of love
Showing you I’m safe.
Save your tears for later
I’m in a better place
My heart will always ache for
The words I want to say.

But fear not friends below
I’ll see you again someday
Now I stay here watching
A smile on my face

To live would be an adventure
To die would be a dream
To lose hope would be disaster
And not to wish would be extreme.
