August
In August I met a boy.
In August I met a boy
who had a face just as beautiful
as his words.
It took time.
It took some time for me to realize
that those enticing words
were rooted in lies
and laced
with false hope.
And as weeks turned to months,
his words became prettier
and prettier.
It is December now.
It is December now
and he’s al wrapped up in the girl
with the dead eyes
and the red, worn out lips.
And here I am
still falling for the boy who
now I realize
is just as ugly as sin.
