she didn't expect it
why daddy why
don't keep me here
a girl needs her mom
yet this is it
the outcome isn't in my favor
custody rules
nobody to braid my hair
to hold me close
when tears fall from my eyes
this is it
goodbye

she didn't expect it
why God why
don't take me away
i'm a depressed monster
hiding behind a mask of optimism
what did i ever do to you ?
i'll be gone soon anyways
why not take me now ?
the happiest ones are always the victims
is that me or am i just transparent ?
goodbye

she didn't expect it
why mommy why
don't push me away
i don't want to leave you
but i have to
it's only for the better
i can't grow up living like you
being like you
this is your fault
and i can't change it
goodbye

I wrote it as a spoken word piece for my language arts class. It has to do with my mom, Susan G. Komen, and my best friend.
