A pencil scrapes the surface of your soul
I see through the almost translucent paper.
Words thrown into your mouth,
Put there by others’ belief that everyone fits in the same book, on the same page.
And you choke, spitting them out as best as you can.

Judged on our symmetry
We try are hardest for perfection
But I see the beauty inside of you
Which you throw away.
Your curved strokes put aside
As you strive for those straight lines.

Your eyes are shooting stars, bursting
With golden light
Then suddenly dim
And disappear.

Your heart is China
Once invaded,
Became vulnerable, so you

Your eyes turning to fire
With a brightness that outmatches the sun.
Your heart accepting others in as a mother does to her newborn child.
Your mind soaring high,
Adrenaline rushing through your veins,
Like never before.
Not even the clouds will stop you from flight up into the vast space of possibility.

And I will watch
From down below,
Watch you spread your wings
Gaining speed
And never again coming down to the ground
For no bars will ever hold you back.
You have been
Set free
