Dream Catcher, Dream Catcher,
your web is full of lies,
no matter how high I hang you,
I scream most times at night.

Dream Catcher, Dream Catcher,
tell me if you work,
Is there something I've done wrong,
have I caused you irk?

Dream Catcher, Dream Catcher,
with your beautiful beads,
When I asked for pleasant dreams,
I wasn't expecting these.

Dream Catcher, Dream Catcher,
I can hear the sounds,
fast approaching footsteps,
the shadow on the ground.

Dream Catcher, Dream Catcher,
have I done something wrong?
Through the most bruising blows,
I've tried to remain strong.

Dream Catcher, Dream Catcher,
I must be doing something.
Why would I keep getting hurt,
if I have done nothing?

Dream Catcher, Dream Catcher,
stay with me tonight.
Maybe if I have some faith,
you'll save me from real life.

This is from the viewpoint of a ten year old girl who's been told about Indians believing that the dream catcher destroys bad dreams. She thinks that, if she believes hard enough, it might make real life better, too.
