Not too long ago, I saw a cookie as the sun.
The sparrows passing by were like dragons in the sky and
The meager dragonfly was the mightiest warrior ever.

Today, a cookie's just a cookie and dragons don't exist.
And looking through a window, I see just cars, just planes, and children free.

For they see the sea I used to in the depths of my backyard pool.
And along with adulthood comes jealousy,
For those visions I once had too.

This piece is about an adult remembering what it was like to be a child. I was inspired by my memory of things being really big when I was little and then it just grew. I had a lot of fun writing this.

Wow. That's really good. I usually don't like when people have a rhyme scheme only in the last stanza (because it's incorrect poem format), but in your case I adore it. This poem reminded me of my own childhood too, which it was I think really made it stick. So anyway, good job. I love this.
