I Dare Not Dream Yet

I blindly walk; no eyes are necessary,
Not with you.
Your breath lies on my back,
For I dare not dream yet.
I sprint madly across the sand,
If only for me and my needs.
Some goal just out of sight.
I mustn't rest,
For I dare not dream yet.
I push against the tide,
And dash back as I am fought against.
You encourage progression.
Of what, I cannot say.
Only of urgency do your words
Slice swiftly across my mind.
For I dare not dream yet.
I don’t have time, so
I dare not dream yet.
