The Neighbors
No one knew anything about this mystery?
Who? When? Why? Nothing.
But no one dared to uncover the answers
for the enigma that were the neighbors .
In the old wooden mansion is where they lived,
rather where they chose to hibernate.
The door is locked and the windows covered
as no one sees any signs of life in the mansion.
Silence is the only thing that radiates to the outside.
The closest evidence of life is the sliver of
yellow smoke that rises from the checkerboard chimney.
There is a rumor that once, Michelangelo Jr.
peered into one of the window panes and saw
the figure of a bald man laying in a bathtub
no bar of soap or shampoo were in his hands.
A wineglass on one hand and a loaded gun on the other as he
proceeded to shoot an array of magical lanterns on the opposite wall
and as the lanterns met their demise as their lights
would wrap the man’s head and slowly hair would rise out.
The man then turned and faced the intruder
and that signaled that it was time to leave.
Michelangelo leaped from the window and headed home.
The next morning he vanished, not to be seen for all eternity.
Michelangelo was not the first victim, nor the last.
The only thing that is left from this encounter
is the old wooden mansion where they lived.
Door locked and windows covered
with still no signs of life.
Silence is the only thing that radiates
from the old wooden mansion
where yellow smoke would rise from the checkerboard chimney
