It’s one of those spring days
in mid March
after the lion
but before the lamb

where the sun has finally started to come out
as winter tries to cling on, fighting until the end
still holding onto the corners
blowing chills down your back every so often

where the last mounds of snow
still lay on the earth
waiting to go, calmly
the last evidence that winter
had ever claimed this place

when hope oozes through between the trees
warming up the earth and everything on it
because winter is finally over
and it’s a new beginning
