Darkness
The curtain rises
But the darkness still falls
A spotlight on me
My shadow wearly long -
I’m forced to smile, to dance and sing
But my heart is begging just crying to flee
I see the exit
But im locked into place
I look to the crowd but no ones stands there
No kids
No family
No friends -
Just darkness
My chains are released as they crumble to the floor
The spotlight turns off me
And the darkness takes all
The tears roll down
My sobs grow loud
And like my chains I crumble down
“No one here loves or cares
but that’s okay i can just cry the pain away.”
