"Dreams are the mind's realities." -Myself

"Sunk into a sea of grief; it's a bother to even open my eyes.
And thus I'll be, endlessly falling-but won't anyone find me?" -Deep-Sea Girl (Hatsune Miku)

I cry, I cry, but nobody dies,
I want someone to be sad for me, too.
I fight, I fight, but never do I try.
When will somebody love me, too?

I’m too tired to drink this poisoned beverage,
As you hand it to me, and claim that it will make me feel better.
I want relief, but I don’t want to give up;
Give me something better than that, you putrid fool!

I’m sick and dying;
The medicine doesn’t cure my broken heart.
I wait for a donation that will never come,
As I lie in this decrepit hospital bed.

I’m too exhausted to even close my burning eyes;
I don’t want to just watch the world go by without me.
Yet as those blind passerby head down the many roads and streets,
I can only sit here, mesmerized.

Oh, how very sad I am, with my knees drawn to my constricted chest.
Perhaps in another life, I will receive a second chance.
That would be the greatest gift of all.
Oh, how purely depressed I am, as I wither away here in my tears.

My final wish in life,
Is only to say good-bye.
Family, friends-I did try my hardest, I swear.
But my time has already passed; I have not a single moment left.

So allow me to stand here on my own,
Tightly gripping at the banister to the very edge of my world.
Oh, Death, thank you for taking me away-
Ashes to ashes…and so I burn in the sun.

The author's comments:
I wrote this poem because it was related to the loss of my grandmother a couple of years ago. I thought that others could also get the feel for it, though it doesn't have to be taken directly as someone dying. My grandmother died of natural causes-someone else may feel differently. I just want readers to know that my work is open to interpretation. Plus, I hope that my first submitted work gets a bit of praise.
