I try to steady my hand.
I ask for my brow's sweat to be wiped.
I ask for the next tool.
I hear the steady bleeping.
I feel the cold metal.
I pull open the chest.
I make the cut.
And I say the worst word you will ever hear a surgeon say.
Oops.
