"Without struggle, there is no progress"

Intertwined at the base of thorns
I bloomed in many layers of crimson
Taking on the illusion of beauty
Mute, preventing me from allowing others to listen
Forever a spell of irrelevance courses deep throughout the stems
As if my colors were illuminated, but still remained translucent
Wide my petals spread across the field
But the soul that settled to everyone was evanescent
I budded from my leaved shell
Hoping once my radiant colors produced
I would be free from the underground
But the pain that the thorns caused wouldn’t subdue
The rain is captivated within my thoughts
Asphyxiating the feelings I once obtained
Although I show utter happiness amongst others
But you see, my life is slowly wilting away
You may paint me upon a single canvas
But get a result of difference
A result of only uncanny phantoms
None other can withstand
Fiery red I burn into you
Just remember though I am one in a million
I still bloom like the rest
But I remain lost, in a dangerous state of oblivion.
I’ve wandered into many other fields before
Only to be ripped out by the roots
Torn petal by petal
I’ve only been a treasure others seem to loot
