Dappled light runs through our veins,
Our smiles goofy and crusted with sleep,
Coffee-scented skin and tsunami hair,
We live for the lazy Sunday afternoons,
Afternoon naps and slow novel flip-throughs,
Bare legs swimming in seas of cold sheets,
Otis and Ella crooning over old, scratchy trombones,
Young bones sweet as honey
