Loss
Pain
Who knew two words could be so similar
Certainly not her
She never thought she could feel both
But sure enough when those two men came to her door
She felt them and so much more
Her life was like a fairy tale little kids dream about
She had a beautiful house
A wonderful husband
And two gorgeous little girls
Life could not be more perfect
The moment the door bell rang it all fell apart
Cuts and bruises filled her body
Blood surrounded the floor
Her body grew lifeless
All she could think about was her little girls
Happy for the fact they weren’t home
Suddenly the room went dark
For that hour she learned
Loss wasn’t something people would joke about
Pain wasn’t just a made up word
Because for that hour she suffered pain and she had lost her life.
