When I was little I learned as a kid
That light is better than darkness
A symbol of innocence and darkness is evil
But how do you know that this is right?

Light is like hope at the end of a dark road
But darkness is like a journey, learning from experiences on that dark road
How would you find light if you couldn’t find darkness?
You need the dark to finally see the good in things

But then again I learned as a kid that darkness is just a string
A string to pull you in...
And light is like open wings...
A source of refuge, a cool air breeze in the season of Spring

But I believe that that is wrong
Darkness is better because it makes you strong
Light is just an illusion that everything is happy
But check the reality, this world is everything BUT happy

Darkness sways in motion that makes you feel alone
But sometimes you need to feel alone to realize that you’ve grown
Grown as a person, everything that you wanted to be
But the light blinds everyone into everything they want to see

So again, I say, darkness is better
You may disagree but you should know better
One must be in a dark place to realize there is light
If you aren’t in this mindset, you’re just not right

Darkness is better
and the light blinds you, unable to see
The light makes you be what you think you want to be

Light and darkness
You can tell them both apart
But come into the darkness and see where it all starts....

When my english class was assigned to write a poem that inspires you, I chose Fire and Ice by Robert Frost. I liked how he compared very two different things and put them into one poem with a deeper meaning rather then just "ice" and "fire." He related it to the world and thats what inspired me to write Light & Darkness. I hope people get from my poem that if anyone is going through a dark place in their life right now that everything will be okay, because there is always light at the end of every obstacle and that the outcome will be great. It may not seem that way right now, but there is always light to every dark place.
