He ran for president
now he runs the nation.

His fortune gave him a run in with a woman.
She ran her fingers down his hair.

The tabloids saw and ran the story.
The speculation ran around,

And his wife said, “Don't come running
to me for cover.”
With his run of bad luck,

He said he was going for a run,
we didn't know he'd ran away.

Since the roads run forever,
and the rivers run short.

We can only assume he made a run
for the border,
where the cartels run orders.

The author's comments:
This a poem about adultery, and experiments with the different definitions of the word "run" throughout the story.
