Dead Truth

It sinks in.
Like a rock hitting the surface of the water;
rippling.

It takes a moment,
for it to hit,
for it to be processed, in my mind.

But once it does,
it is the mushroom cloud.
The great, grey, giant.
Monstrous in the sky.
Destroying anything in its radius.

The heavy,
destructive,
horrible,
terrible,
dead truth.

I think that this poem reflects the horror you feel when you hear some really bad news; a really sad truth.

 I just wanted the photographer of this picture to know that I absolutely adore it and that I think it captures so much emotion. A picture really does say a thousand words. ~AlexM14
