Unknowing and unaware,
of the dangers that lurk everywhere.
That's how I came into this world.
I was a baby without a care.
Years went by,
I got older and wiser, but still lived without fear.
I did not know what the future held,
I was a child with dreams of a happy future.
More time passed and I became more aware,
But I was reassured that everything would be all just fine,
And I believed.
I was a young adult who knew of what the dangers held,
but was told they were not going to last,
that they weren't as scary as they seemed.
Now I am an adult.
I know the dangers,
I know the fears,
But no one is here to tell me they are not real.
No one tells me I will be okay.
Now I just dream of the time when I was in the world,
