The thorns of your words cut me
Leaving scars on my inside
Your intentions where love
I received pain instead
Not always, but enough
Enough for me to realize it wasn’t worth it
You weren’t worth the pain you caused me
Leaving you ripped me open
Worse than any thorns could have cut me
This is for the best I know
I hope you don’t feel the pain I do
I wish the best for you,
And for me-
No more thorns will cut me
