Do we realize how much
We depend on
Flowers?
We use them to
See who loves us.
We drink them in tea
And use them for
herbal remedies.
We use their vibrant colors
To inspire us.
We create perfumes and candles.
We even eat them.

We use flowers for
Special occasions, too.
We throw them backwards
At our weddings.
We lay them on the graves
Of our loved ones.
We cheer ourselves up with them,
And make decorations to
hang on our doors.

We name our children
After them,
Like Daisy and Rose.
We pluck them and
Press them into
Books and journals to
Mark the page.
We use flowers to symbolize our love for one another.

We do not realize
How much we depend
On flowers until they are gone.
