Hometown
The highest point in Northeastern Pennsylvania
Our welcome sign is a beat up small board on a pole
They had to use our High School football stadium
For the S.W.A.T team and the whole police patrol
The outskirts are no better than the rest of the medium
No, we ain’t no farmers, herders or country folk
In fact, we find the PA stereotypes as one big joke
Our school may be one of the worst in the whole state
But I got some great friends that could never be replaced
Still, you probably shouldn’t be out in the streets too late
Because you get scared in these streets and your steps are paced
But during the day this is still where I am from, still home
Yet I still counted the days until I moved out of there
Because in the land of opportunity our small town…
Didn’t get a share
