Our People
Dear friends and family mixed together, we welcome all
Made from one thing alone, a tree perhaps, maybe a willow
The branches dance in the wind, a little charcoal loon came from one end,
And a star-nosed mole, underground, came from the other side of the willow tree
Together in the woods and forests, they call,
I do here say that even nature is a part of us
The grey wolfs and coyotes these are our brothers,
The red foxes and white rabbits, these are our sisters,
Our cousins, the chasing squirrels,
Our grandparents, the wise owls,
Our parents, the flying birds,
Gathered round, I see all families mixed together
Each one different, even though all from that one core of that one willow tree
