Here, There Is

There is no unfolding drama
no banners of autumn
in red, orange, yellow,
to turn the trees sunlike
for just a moment

Here Summer
locks her fingers in green,
clings to lost youth,
til winter has its way
with it's ice cold grip

But the burning beauty in all things
is a slow burn
until it flames out,
until the chill comes

a silent reminder that all things
are destined to bloom again.
