Strange, isn’t it.
How Love can change the weather.

The cool night kisses your face.
Satisfaction, and contentment
Your fingers laced with hers
Lying back, enjoying the stars
They shine even brighter, it seems.
As if to commemorate this occasion.

The stormy rain only elucidates your pleasure
As you run around,
laughing yourselves back into bygone memories.
Twirling, dancing, your excitement never atrophies.
The clouds are a beautiful shade of grey.

The blue sky on a summer day
Endless heat repelled by the cool breeze of her laughter
As you sit down and watch her picking dandelions
The yellow and green
Enhancing the beautiful canvas of her skin

Strange, isn’t it.
How Love can change the weather.

The warm night kisses your face
Sadness, and resentment
Your hands cold without the warmth that once was.
Lying back, cursing the stars
Or lack thereof. The night is black.
As if to commemorate this occasion.

The leaves depart from their branches,
The days turn cold.
The frigid weather echoing through the caverns of your heart
The spidery fingers of the trees seem to clasp your soul in dark and despair.
The clouds are gray.

You watch as the kids laugh in the snow
Their joyous sound piercing your heart
As you look around
Remembering a time
When such joy didn’t bring such pain

Strange, isn’t it.
How Love can change the weather.

New beginnings, new happenings.
Trudging forward from the wreckage, the pits of your self
It’s always darkest before the dawn
And with the dawn
Comes new light.

Strange, isn’t it?
How Love changes the weather.

Isn't it strange how Love can so visibly alter our perceptions on reality

What is life?

Wow. This was so beautiful. I like how the first half of the poem and the second half are like opposites. The mood totally changes. I felt so happy and lighthearted at first and then at the end I was sad and wondered why and how things had changed so drastically.
