Untitle-able
Isn’t it incredible what one genetic mutation can do to a human being?
You go from happy and smiling, to mad and frustrated, and to sad and alone.
The loneliness only blossoms when you think you’re the only one in the world who feels like this.
The rage in the pit of your stomach when you recall those weekend nights,
The anger and resentment you build from the actions inflicted on you,
The blame you place on the people you call parents, who have given you this burden.
You toss and turn at night trying to find a comfortable place to sleep,
But all you can think about is that you have to relive it all again tomorrow,
The same scheduled smiles, the same faked laugh and the ever so sly lies.
You lie so they don’t know what you’re doing,
You lie for the freedom you wish you had.
You lie for those 3 extra sleeping pills that will hopefully get you through the night of terrors,
You lie to put smiles on other people’s faces.
Those smiles,
The smiles that scream “we are happy”,
The simple faces of children that don’t know any of the evil yet in the world,
They get angry because the teacher told them not to swing on the swing set that way,
They get upset because they can’t find the motivation to lose all the baby fat that their friends have melted off.
They get used to being called “fat” and “ugly”,
They learn what its like to starve,
People think they wear tight clothes to show off their figure, but they are aware that they wear them so they can tighten their stomachs and hopefully pretend its full.
They learn what heartbreak is,
These children get to learn the meaning of being ripped out of someone’s life,
The sadness of seeing a father cry,
And the familiarity of a mothers sobbing.
Who are these strange people?
Why are they asking such questions?
Because they know at nine years old that you don’t know the DIFFERENCE between right and wrong,
but THEY are wrong.
You know that hitting is bad,
Because you know the sting of a hand mark across your face,
You learn that death is right,
and though a plausible action, it won’t put fake smiles on those faces.
Only lines of despair and sorrow.
Which would you choose?
A life where you are filled with tears but make others happy?
Or a death where you fill other people's tears and find a silent bliss of eternity?
Obviously the choice is clear.
