Stepping into, a world
unknown
Unclear, the purpose of my
journey, same sky above me
Gentle breeze unchanging on the other
side

Behind me, purple wildflowers
bow and rebel
A sweet contrast to,
the dying grasses
Cuts still stinging, scarlet ribbons on my feet

Hands pressed to the frame
Unwilling to relinquish control,
to let to, of a world of plenty
To walk alone
Souls of my feet determined,
to press forward
It can’t be a desert for
long
